Better by Design Constructions and Add-A-Deck are proudly based on the Far South Coast of NSW. Since 1987, we have delivered building projects across the state. Relocating from Sydney to the NSW South Coast we service from Batemans Bay to Tuross and beyond, we design and construct spaces that improve how you live.
We also manage every stage of the process — from council approvals through to the final finish. As a result, building with us feels seamless and stress-free.
Who We Are
Brent Sullivan founded Add-A-Deck in 1987. It quickly became a trusted name for decking and renovations across NSW. Later, we launched Better by Design to expand our full-service building expertise. This shift meant we could guide clients from concept and architectural design, through approvals, and into construction.

A Little More about Brent and the Business
Add-A-Deck & Better by Design has earned a strong reputation for innovative, stylish, and functional home improvements. With over 30 years in the industry, owner and principal builder Brent Sullivan ensures every project reflects quality workmanship and seamless design.
We have been a proud member of the Housing Industry Association (HIA) since 1991, and over the years our work has been recognised with multiple awards, including a Housing Award in 1998.
As a licensed builder, Brent personally oversees each stage of the process, from concept and design through to construction — backed by extensive local and international experience. His qualifications in Design and Project Management and postgraduate studies at the University of Sydney reinforce his commitment to quality and excellence.
